Who we are & What we stand for

At Agbor Technical College, we believe that education should go beyond academics. It should be a bridge to real-world skills, job readiness and self-reliance. We are part of the network of technical and vocational institutions regulated by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), which ensures that curricula meet national standards for technical colleges.

Our programs are designed to combine theory with extensive hands-on training which reflects the core strength of technical education: practical skills and real-world readiness.

We provide training in a wide range of trades and technical disciplines, including: electrical/electronic work, mechanical and automotive maintenance, building and construction trades (carpentry, masonry, plumbing, etc.), computer/IT-related trades and other vocational skills required in Nigeria’s evolving labor market.

Our Vision

Our vision is to build a generation of skilled, confident and employable technicians & artisans who can drive socioeconomic development, innovation and entrepreneurship whether as employees, contractors or self-employed professionals.

Our Mission & Goals

  • Deliver quality technical education that blends theoretical knowledge and practical skills, preparing students for real-life jobs, craftsmanship, and self-employment.

  • Promote self-reliance and employability by equipping students with marketable skills, empowering them to contribute to Nigeria’s workforce or start their own ventures.

  • Address skills shortage in our state and country by producing well-trained technicians, artisans, and craftsmen who meet national standards and industry needs.

  • Foster entrepreneurship and innovation, so our graduates can create jobs rather than just seeking them, and contribute to economic diversification and community development.

  • Maintain high standards of training and accreditation, in line with NBTE and state technical-education policies, providing a credible pathway to recognized technical certifications.
  • Why Agbor Technical College Matters

Technical colleges play an important role in Nigeria by bridging the gap between formal education and practical industry needs. As the demand for skilled workers continues to rise in areas like construction, manufacturing, electronics, and various technical services, institutions like Agbor Technical College help produce the skilled manpower needed for national development.

By offering training in hands-on, career-focused trades, the college empowers young people with the ability to become self-reliant and employable. This helps reduce unemployment and underemployment, while giving students the confidence and skills to contribute meaningfully to society, whether they choose to work in established industries or start their own trades.

As the Nigerian economy evolves, the need for adaptable and innovative technical skills becomes even more important. Agbor Technical College remains committed to updating its training methods and areas of focus, ensuring that graduates are prepared for emerging fields, new technologies, entrepreneurial opportunities and the changing demands of the local and national job market.
